Face Front, True Believers! Nearly a year in the… waiting… to get around to finish watching a TV show available on demand at any given time to four separate subscribers… we finally talk about Daredevil…’s first season, just a few days before the second drops. Timely! Diabolu Frank, the guy who lost our first pass at a group recording, is joined at first by special guest Token Fire Guy! …as a lengthy aside from a session we did long ago for an Under Guides that still hasn’t been fully edited or released… and then the group is completed with Illegal Machine and Mr. Fixit… last Saturday, recorded quietly on cheap alternative microphones while Mac’s kid was sleeping… But hey, the effort we saved by barely editing this thing gets devoted to overlong tangents on low class entertainment product from 20-30 years ago and vulgar discussions about the show’s actresses! DC Comics may have abandoned the pretense of a “New” 52, but you guys can take heart that we’re still slinging the same mess of stink fifty-two episodes in! Excelsior!

As you can tell, we love a fierce conversation, so why don’t you socialize with us, either by leaving a comment on this page or…

  1. Great to hear you guys talk about the series as it got me geared up to start season 2 this week.

I very much enjoyed the first season and was able to binge watch it pretty easily. Yes it was dark and bleak. But the characters were very complex, the protagonists likable, and the action great. I say this to contrast it to Jessica Jones which I still haven’t finished. It is hard to like any of those characters outside of Luke Cage. I suppose I’ll finish that series some day.

As for the first series, my favorite scene was Karen killing Wesley as I was completely not expecting it. It is hard to truly surprise someone who has read too many comics and watched too many movies.

The whole series I was saying that eventually Wesley was going to shake off his stuffy businessman exterior, show that he was ripped under the Armani, and fight Daredevil. I was waiting for that to happen so much that I think his death was doubly surprising. Karen saying something to the effect of ‘do you think this is the first time I’ve fired a gun at someone’ added a nice wrinkle too.
