Face Front, True Believer! Longtime listeners will know the name, as his legend echoes through many episodes, but this edition marks the coming of… FRY-HOLE! Our special guest joins Mister Fixit, Illegal Machine, & Diabolu Frank to discuss his favorite Marvel Super Hero, the God of Thunder, Miiiighty Thoooorrrr!!! We finally have a broad discussion about the founding Avenger and cinema star, with our sweet spots of coverage in the ’80s & ’00s! It’s not the most linear chat though, with tangents into several Avengers, Marvel Knights (“Streets of Poison” represent, ya’ll) and even the X-Men! Plus, Frank peeks into the Marvel Mail Bag and finds careless whispers! Excelsior!

As you can tell, we love a fierce conversation, so why don’t you socialize with us, either by leaving a comment on this page or…

  1. The only Thor run I have is the Simonson run. Now that is a fantastic run that has stood the test of time. That run was mostly immersed in Asgardian plotlines. There weren’t too many issues set on Earth. But even those issues shined. Frog-Thor was on Earth. And there was a couple of issues with a take on Marshall Law.

I have never liked JRJR’s art. Recently he did Superman with Gene Yang and that art was gruesome.

I laughed a ton with this episode. I especially loved Machine saying ‘this stuff can’t be as cool as you are making it sound!’

  2. I agree with Mac, you probably make those Thor stories sound a lot more awesome than they actually were. Still, makes me wonder…

I really liked you looking at Thor without hanging the whole thing on the Simonson run because everyone almost always only talks about that when they broach the subject.

And I totally get what Fry-Hole was talking about when he referred to an automatic connection when the comic was about your heritage. Same reason I give Alpha Flight more of a pass than they usually deserve.
