  1. There are two movies coming out between AVENGERS: INFINITY WAR and the as-yet-untitled “Avengers 4”: ANT-MAN AND THE WASP and CAPTAIN MARVEL. The latter is set in the bygone days of the 1990s, so it won’t effect the plot of the Avengers movies until Carol shows up in A4.

AM&W, on the other hand, is–from what I understand–supposed to take place between the two Avengers movies. I hope it doesn’t feel like a jarring 90 degree turn, diverting away from the main action of AIW, unless that film does have a definite end and doesn’t feel like half a movie.

A few days ago, Evangeline Lilly finally confirmed that she did shoot something for AVENGERS: INFINITY WAR prior to filming ANT-MAN AND THE WASP. However, she only filmed AIF for one day, so if I had to guess, there’s a shot of Hope and Hank Pym watching TV, reacting to Thanos bringing the ruckus. Probably no dialogue. The scene/shot could even be cut from the movie by the time it comes out. Lilly then said she jumps into shooting A4 immediately after AM&W wraps production, so Wasp will definitely have a bigger part in that one.

I suppose it’s possible that Black Widow dies in AIF, but Captain Marvel, Wasp, Scarlet Witch, and (I think) Nebula are at least confirmed to be in Avengers 4. Not sure about Gamora and Valkyrie yet, but it looks like we’ll have a good number of powerful women kicking ass in Avengers 4.

  2. February 2018: BLACK PANTHER
    July 2018: ANT-MAN & THE WASP

    March 2019: CAPTAIN MARVEL
    May 2019: AVENGERS 4

    2020: ?
    2020: ?

Marvel has three release dates reserved for 2020, but the only movie they’ve confirmed for that year is James Gunn’s third and presumably final installment of Guardians of the Galaxy. If I had to guess I would say one of the other two movies is a sequel to Doctor Strange and the third one is a brand new character/franchise, or possibly a known commodity who hasn’t gotten a solo flick yet, like Black Widow or Vision & Scarlet Witch.
